About Dr. Jose Silva
Hi there! I’m Jose, and I’m so glad you’re here. I am someone who genuinely loves connecting with people, and I bring that warm, friendly energy into every single conversation. As a therapist and board-certified advanced practice nurse, my clinical work brings together the best of both worlds: approachable, supportive talk therapy and expert medication management. I earned my Doctor of Nursing Practice degree from the University of Massachusetts Amherst and completed my advanced psychiatric training at Purdue Global. My background covers comprehensive, mind-body wellness for people of all ages—from kids and teens to adults and seniors. I don’t believe in a one-size-fits-all approach; my goal is simply to get to know you as a unique human being and look at your health as a whole picture. In my work, I focus heavily on supporting individuals navigating OCD, depression, everyday anxiety, and body-focused habits (like hair-pulling). I pride myself on being incredibly down-to-earth and easy to talk to, whether you are dealing with daily stress or going through an intense, overwhelming season. Because everyone heals differently, I offer individual, couples, and group sessions so we can collaborate on the terms that feel most comfortable for you. Think of our virtual sessions as a safe, grounding space where you can chat with someone who truly cares, catch your breath, and feel completely supported. Because we are 100% virtual, I make the entire care process simple, warm, and highly accessible right from the comfort of your favorite couch. I'm incredibly proud to be part of the team here at Dare Therapy—let's work together to help you feel like yourself again!

What type of clients do you work best with?
My ideal focus is helping people across their entire life journey—whether that means connecting with children, guiding teens, or supporting adults and seniors. I also really enjoy collaborating with couples and groups who are working through relationship dynamics. Because my role blends advanced counseling methods with medication support, I am highly effective at helping those who are navigating intense OCD patterns, heavy depression, persistent anxiety, or seasons of overwhelming stress. I’m always eager to welcome anyone who wants an approachable clinician who looks at both emotional patterns and biological health.
What can clients expect in their first session with you?
You can expect an unhurried, comfortable conversation where your voice is the most important thing in the room. We will spend our initial time together exploring what brought you to care, mapping out what real relief looks like for you, and drawing up a collaborative roadmap that stays true to your personal life values. Whether we are pinpointing your inner motivation or mapping out a gentle stability plan during an especially heavy week, our very first meeting is centered entirely on building a solid foundation of trust.
How do you tailor your approach to meet each client's needs?
Every mind and background is completely distinct, so I never use a cookie-cutter approach. I naturally pivot between standard individual talk therapy, couples sessions, or group settings depending on what serves your personal growth best at any given moment. By providing all of our care 100% online, I ensure that your sessions remain a reliable, low-stress resource that fits naturally into your routine without adding to your daily mental load.
